The Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) fulfills several functions within the UN Secretariat at UN Headquarters in New York. The PBSO has three main functions:
- Serve as the secretariat for the Peacebuilding Commission;
- Administer the Peacebuilding Fund; and
- Coordinate peacebuilding efforts within the UN system.
The PBSO is headed by the Assistant Secretary-General for Peacebuilding Support (ASG) and reports to the Secretary-General. The office is organized around its core functions and includes the PBC Support Section, the Financing for Peacebuilding Section and the Policy Planning Section. View the PBSO's organigramme here.
